Joe Burrow’s Successful Return to Ohio State
When Joe Burrow transferred to Louisiana State University in 2018, it was a decision that appeared to have paid off. He went on to lead the team to an NCAA Championship, and was the first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Now, Burrow is about to make a triumphant return to his former college. On Saturday, Burrow attended the wedding of his former Ohio State teammate, Justin Hilliard.
The wedding took place at The Fives Columbus, and Burrow and his girlfriend, Olivia Holzmacher, posed for photos in formal attire. Hilliard and Burrow were both redshirt freshmen at Ohio State in 2015, and Hilliard went on to become a co-captain for the Buckeyes before his sixth season.
Hilliard was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent after the 2021 draft. He played two games for the New York Giants in 2021 before being waived by the Kansas City Chiefs in January.
Burrow’s return to Ohio State is a reminder of his rise to fame. Before transferring to LSU, he was an accomplished quarterback at Athens High School and a star at St. Xavier High School. He has since achieved great success at the college and professional level.
Although Hilliard’s career did not reach the same heights, it is clear that Ohio State will always hold a special place in both of their hearts. The success of both players will continue to be celebrated in Buckeye country for years to come.
