With the NFL offseason in full swing, the Houston Texans are looking to make some big moves under new head coach Demeco Ryans. With the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Texans have the opportunity to select a player that could shape the future of the franchise. To discuss the latest news and the upcoming draft, host Charles McDonald was joined by Jonathan Alexander of the Houston Chronicle and Nate Tice of the Athletic.
To begin, the two discussed the hiring of Eric Bieniemy as the Washington Commanders offensive coordinator and assistant head coach, Vic Fangio as the Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator, and the latest rumors about Daniel Jones’ contract. They then moved on to the Texans and what their plans could be for the second overall pick. Alexander believes that the Texans should look for a quarterback in the draft, but Ryans could also opt for a defensive player with the pick.
The two then discussed the top four quarterbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft. They began with Bryce Young from Alabama, who is considered to be the top quarterback in the draft and is expected to be a first-round pick. They then looked at CJ Stroud from Ohio State, Anthony Richardson from Kentucky, and Will Levis from Penn State. Each player brings a unique skill set to the table and could be a great addition to the Texans.
Finally, McDonald wanted to honor the legacy of Terez Paylor and asked for viewers to support his scholarship fund at Howard University. Anyone interested can buy an All-Juice Team hoodie or tee from BreakingT.com/Terez, or donate directly to the Terez A. Paylor Scholarship or the PowerMizzou Journalism Alumni Scholarship in memory of Terez Paylor.
