Why Video Strategy Matters in 2026: Insights from Ihor Shovkoplias, Leading Video Producer and Creative Strategist in the U.S.

In the age of shrinking attention spans and algorithm-driven content, video has become the most powerful storytelling medium for brands. But as competition intensifies, producing high-quality visuals is no longer enough. What truly drives success in 2025 is video strategy — the art of combining creativity, psychology, and analytics to build emotional connection with the audience.

Ihor Shovkoplias, a Ukrainian-born video producer and content strategist based in New York, is one of the experts leading this new wave of strategic creativity. With over seven years of international experience, Shovkoplias has worked with brands across Europe and the U.S., including Adidas, Messika, Deloitte, De’Longhi, and several fast-growing American startups. His approach has helped companies move beyond traditional advertising — transforming their content into experiences that inspire trust and long-term engagement.

    From Video Production to Strategy

Shovkoplias began his career as a video producer in Ukraine, working with Promodo, one of Eastern Europe’s leading digital marketing agencies. He quickly realized that most brands focused too heavily on aesthetics and not enough on meaning. “Video shouldn’t just be beautiful,” he explains. “It should tell the truth — the kind that people feel, not just see.”

That mindset guided his career as he expanded internationally. While working with Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club in the Netherlands, the oldest hockey club in Europe, he reshaped its online identity and increased its Instagram audience by more than 87%. Later, in New York, he collaborated with ADME on global content campaigns, refining his unique blend of creative direction and strategic storytelling.

A New Standard of Authentic Storytelling

Shovkoplias believes that the era of overly polished commercials is coming to an end. In his view, authentic storytelling— raw emotion, natural light, and genuine human moments — is what drives brand loyalty in 2025. “People are tired of seeing ads that look like ads,” he says. “They want to see themselves — their energy, their imperfections, their stories.”

His creative philosophy revolves around building trust through realism. Instead of staging perfection, his projects focus on relatable emotion and human-centered design. Whether producing cinematic campaigns for global brands like Messika or crafting lifestyle videos for boutique startups, his goal is always the same: to make the audience feel something real.

    The Data Behind Emotion

What sets Shovkoplias apart is his ability to combine artistic intuition with data. He doesn’t just shoot and edit — he analyzes. His creative process involves studying audience engagement, content performance, and storytelling rhythm to build videos that perform both emotionally and algorithmically.

This approach has led to measurable impact. Across platforms, his projects have generated over 100 million views, and more than 60% of clients return for new collaborations. His productions have elevated brand visibility, improved retention metrics, and strengthened community loyalty — all through the power of emotion-driven storytelling.

The Future of Video in 2026

As artificial intelligence and automation continue to change the creative landscape, Shovkoplias sees the future of video as deeply human. He integrates AI tools where they enhance production speed or precision but insists that storytelling itself must remain authentic and emotion-driven.

“The future belongs to brands that make people feel something real,” he says. “Technology can help us create faster, but emotion is what makes people stay.”

Looking ahead, Ihor Shovkoplias aims to continue helping brands transform their visual communication — not through bigger budgets or trends, but through sincerity, strategy, and human connection.

In a market where content is everywhere, his work proves a simple truth: emotion is still the most effective marketing strategy.
