Engineered Tax Services founder will join James O’Keefe and independent media voices on November 12, 2026 — extending a career built on tax reform, grant equality, and expanding access to capital

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. / PALM BEACH, Fla. — Julio Gonzalez has been named to the lineup for the Second Annual Citizen Journalist Gala, set for November 12, 2026, at Mar-a-Lago.

Gonzalez, Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Engineered Tax Services, will appear alongside James O’Keefe and other voices in independent journalism and media. He said he is honored to be included and thanked O’Keefe and O’Keefe Media for bringing the group together to celebrate the courage to ask tough questions, pursue the truth, and keep the public informed.

“Looking forward to an incredible evening at Mar-a-Lago,” Gonzalez said. “Hope to see you there.”

    A Career Built on Access

Gonzalez founded Engineered Tax Services in 2001 so accounting firms could put engineers, tax attorneys, and scientists behind client work that had long been reserved for Fortune 500 companies. The firm, headquartered in West Palm Beach, now operates as a national specialty practice in cost segregation, energy incentives, research and development credits, legal structure, grants, government contracts, and government funding. It works alongside CPAs rather than replacing them.

He has spent more than two decades arguing that opportunity should not stay locked inside institutions that already understand the system. Large companies, he has said, maintain teams to find credits, incentives, and public funding. Smaller businesses, nonprofits, churches, and community operators usually do not. His public case has widened from tax equality to tax and grant equality: not a guaranteed outcome, a genuine chance to enter the process.

That mission sits behind several of his ventures. ETS Cares and Engineered Impact, under the charge to “Engineer a Better World,” put the firm’s relationships and platform behind veterans, second-chance initiatives, nonprofits, and underserved communities. Engineered Jet Tax applies the same thesis to private aviation — own the asset, structure the tax, and make the numbers work. Across all of it, Gonzalez has held one line: the firm will not recommend a strategy, credit, study, grant, or contract it cannot support with expertise and documentation.

On October 2, 2026, he received the Luminary Award for Humanitarian Impact at the Luminous Advocacy Project’s Light Up the Night Gala in Miami, dedicated to his mother, Paula Gonzalez, whom he lost to breast cancer. He has said she believed in him before he had accomplished anything, and that pain can become purpose and success can become service.

    Why the Gala Fits

The Citizen Journalist Gala is positioned as a gathering for independent reporting, free speech, and an informed public. Gonzalez’s inclusion places a national voice on tax reform, economic access, and funding strategy on a stage built around tough questions and accountability. His work has long argued that the public should know what the system actually contains — credits, incentives, grants, and contracts that exist but are rarely briefed to the operators who could use them.

Tickets for the November 12 evening are available at citizenjournalistgala.com.
