The University of Alabama has announced that Robert Bala will be joining their coaching staff as the new linebackers coach. Bala brings a wealth of experience in the college and professional ranks to the team, having served as defensive coordinator at the University of Arizona, as well as spending time in the NFL with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers.
Bala was a linebacker at the University of Arizona, playing under current Arizona head coach Kevin Sumlin. He has also coached at Arizona State, Miami (FL), and most recently the Indianapolis Colts. He has been a part of five bowl game appearances, winning three of them.
Bala is known for his attention to detail and his ability to develop young linebackers. He will be tasked with helping the Crimson Tide to continue their defensive dominance in the SEC. Alabama has one of the top defenses in the nation, and Bala will be given the opportunity to help the team reach its goals in 2020.
This is a great hire for the Crimson Tide, as Bala will bring a wealth of experience to the coaching staff. He understands the game and has the ability to develop young players. He will have the opportunity to shape the Crimson Tide defense into one of the best in the country.
