Erewhon has become one of the most recognizable names in Los Angeles grocery stores. But, as any Angeleno knows, the prices of their goods can be quite high. This was made abundantly clear after one TikTok user @fuhlex shared her experience of purchasing a $50 bag from the store.
The video shows @fuhlex entering Erewhon, looking for a reusable shopping bag. She purchased two drinks, and then was asked if she needed a bag. She said yes, and when the bag was scanned, it came out to be a whopping $50. She was so embarrassed that she decided to purchase it anyway.
The video has since gone viral, with many commenters expressing their shock at the price. @Stopcyber_mm wrote, “$50?! For that H*** NO take that felt bag back lol.” @Dabootywizard chimed in with, “The workers aren’t owners of erewhon lol, they prob make closer to minimum wage, so I’m sure they’ll understand.”
The high price of the bag has left many people in and outside of Los Angeles wondering how a bag could cost so much. It’s safe to say that this experience serves as a reminder to always check the price before you make a purchase. If it exceeds your expectation, you don’t have to buy it. And if you do, it better be worth it!
