President Biden tripped and fell while boarding Air Force One in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday, according to video of the incident. The footage showed the President losing his balance near the top of the stairs, but he quickly caught himself and continued up the steps.
The White House blamed the gusty conditions for the stumble and said Biden was “doing 100% fine.” White House communications director Kate Bedingfield also said that it was “nothing more than a misstep on the stairs.”
This was not the first time Biden has had a stumble while boarding Air Force One. In March of 2019, Biden also tripped on the stairs at Joint Base Andrews. The White House attributed this incident to the windy conditions as well.
Biden had just concluded his trip to Kyiv, Ukraine and Warsaw, Poland, where he reaffirmed the United States’ support for the war-torn nation and expressed his solidarity with Poland.
The President is scheduled to return to Washington, D.C. Wednesday evening aboard Air Force One. He has made it safely onto the plane this time, but the American public can only hope that the windy conditions have died down.
