Caleb Williams, the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner, recently revealed his preferred NFL landing spot should he enter the 2024 NFL Draft. The USC quarterback told PEOPLE magazine that he’d “probably go to the Dolphins,” citing the team’s young coaching staff, offensive weapons like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Mike Gesicki, and the favorable weather in Miami.
Williams also named the San Francisco 49ers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Atlanta Falcons as potential landing spots, but added that he’d “play anywhere.” The 21-year-old Washington, D.C. native is certainly open to any team that’s interested, and he might be especially appealing to any team that needs a quarterback.
Williams is coming off a remarkable sophomore season in which he took home the Heisman Trophy and could potentially become just the second-ever two-time winner in 2023. He’s already shown he has the talent and work ethic to be a successful NFL quarterback, so it’s no surprise his preferred destination is the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins have an experienced coaching staff and a promising offense that can’t help but appeal to Williams. Whether he ends up in Miami or somewhere else, it’ll be interesting to see where the Heisman winner lands in the 2024 NFL Draft.
