Texas GOP Rep. Ronny Jackson, a former White House physician, is calling for an end to the “cover-up” surrounding President Joe Biden’s health after the president’s physical earlier this week declared him “healthy and fit to serve as commander in chief.”
Jackson told Fox News Digital that the majority of Americans can see that Biden’s mental health is in decline, yet the White House is not being transparent about the issue and his ability to do his job.
“Yesterday’s written physical exam report released by Biden’s physician, Kevin O’Connor, further confirms that this administration is still adamant about concealing the truth,” Jackson said.
The revelation of the report was especially concerning to Jackson, as it made no mention of the president undergoing a cognitive test.
“Nowhere in the report was there mention of Biden’s deteriorating mental health,” Jackson said. “This is alarming, considering I have already sent three letters to the White House demanding that Biden receive a cognitive test and that the results be made public, all of which have been ignored. Everyone can see something is wrong — the cover-up needs to end.”
Jackson was previously criticized by former President Barack Obama for his critique of Biden’s cognitive health on the 2020 campaign trail. In his 2022 memoir, he discussed a “scathing” email he received from Obama about his comments on Twitter.
In response to the lack of transparency surrounding the president’s health, Jackson is now calling on the White House to take action and make the results of a cognitive test public.
“It is essential that the public be made aware of the president’s mental and physical health,” Jackson said. “It should not be a matter of partisan politics. This is about the safety and security of the American people.”
Jackson’s call to action comes as White House physician Kevin O’Connor declared the president “fit to serve.” O’Connor noted that Biden’s main medical event in the past year was his upper respiratory infection from COVID-19 last summer. He also said that Biden’s oxygen levels never fell below 97%.
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has also weighed in on the issue, saying that politicians over the age of 75 should have to take a mental cognitive test before assuming office.
It is clear that Jackson is not alone in wanting more transparency surrounding the president’s health. With the 2024 election looming, it is more important than ever that the American people have access to the truth about the president’s health.
