Michael Page continued to add to his already impressive highlight reel this past Saturday night at Bellator 292. Page (21-2 MMA, 17-2 BMMA) defeated Goiti Yamauchi (28-6 MMA, 14-5 BMMA) in stunning fashion by knockout just 26 seconds into their welterweight contest.
The fight began with Page pressuring Yamauchi and landing a leg kick that visibly caused Yamauchi to drop to the canvas in pain. The referee stepped in and waved off the fight, registering the finish as a knockout.
The win was Page’s first since his loss to Mike Perry in a majority decision in August. Prior to that, Page had lost to Logan Storley in a split decision for the Bellator interim welterweight title.
The loss to Storley snapped Page’s six-fight winning streak. Yamauchi had a three-fight winning streak come to an end. He entered Bellator 292 on the heels of a highlight-reel knockout of top contender Neiman Gracie.
The knockout win was another impressive addition to Page’s highlight reel. He is quickly becoming one of the most exciting fighters in the sport and will surely be a fighter to watch in the future.
